Pakistan beat by England

Joe Root and Jas Butler failed to make history after the couple of centuries In the second match of the World Cup, the hosts lost 14 runs to Pakistan in a high scoring match. To touch the target of 349 in Pakistan, however, the Eoin Morgan team had to make the record for the highest run-score in the World Cup.

Pakistan lost their last eight wickets in 50 overs for 348 runs . Mohammad Hafeez top scored with 84 runs for the team. He scored 8 fours and 2 sixes in 62 balls. Besides, Babar Azam scored 63 off 66 balls.

Among others, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 55 (44 balls), opener Imam ul Haq (44) and Fakhar Zaman (36).

Moin Ali and Chris Woakes took three wickets each for England. Mark Wood also took two wickets.

England have lost two batsmen in a losing cause. Finishing the ball with the help of Oaks (21) and Moin (19) could not overcome the pressure. England, who lost 9 wickets at the end of the 50 overs, scored 334 runs.

For Pakistan, Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan and Mohammad Amir took one wicket each.
